Plane, Train or Car?

If you are travelling to France, you may automatically think that it is cheaper to travel by car but that may not be the case. Granted, you have the flexibility of being able to take much more luggage on your travels as you are not limited to a suitcase. You can fit in everything for a family holiday including prams, food and details of mortgage France, so it might seem a better choice at first.

People also associate flying with being harmful on the environment and they might also think that it is more environmentally friendly to take the car. But is it really a better choice to take the car than to fly?

If you are going the whole hog and travelling from North to south it can take the better part of fifteen to sixteen hours all in to drive there plus the boat time. This compares to around one hour on the plane.

This seems like a no brainer as you can hire a car down there and it can even work out far cheaper when you weigh up the cost of a plane ticket against boat ticket, fuel and the motorway tolls – plus an hotel en route for the night.

However, you should also consider taking a train down there and many people do not even think of this idea, maybe because they do not speak French or are nervous of getting lost.
