La Riviera Restaurant - Quayside, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Directions:
Coming from the A19 (northbound) you will approach a roundabout. It is the left turning you will take, sign posted to Gateshead and Newcastle. Straight ahead at the next roundabout, again following the signs for Newcastle city centre. Follow this road past Gateshead stadium, going straight ahead at all the lights until you reach the large roundabout with traffic lights.
Take the third exit, signed as A167 to Newcastle, approaching the Tyne Bridge. About 50 yards from the start of the bridge is a slip road to the left. Take this road, and at the following T-junction turn left. At this point you will see La Riviera at the bottom of the hill. This road takes you onto the Swing bridge. Go over the bridge and the road bears to the left. This takes you directly to the recommended parking area, behind the Sea nightclub.
Parking:
The best car parking locations within the vicinity of the restaurant are, the four following locations and they are all between 200 and 500 yards from the restaurant.
CAR PARK 1
FROM GATESHEAD
As you are driving from Gateshead heading over the Tyne Bridge, just before the bridge, bear left to go down towards the Hilton hotel. At the traffic lights you will see the restaurant on the left, but you must turn right to go under the Tyne bridge and then right again. This brings you in front of the Century Radio, and the Public Car Park. Walk back down hill to the restaurant.
FROM NEWCASTLE
As you are driving from Newcastle heading over the Tyne Bridge, just at the end of the bridge, before the traffic lights bear left. This brings you in front of the Century Radio, and the Public Car Park. Walk down the hill back under the Tyne Bridge, pas the Hilton on your left and you will see the restaurant in front of you directly before the Swing Bridge.
CAR PARK 2
Drive to the "Pipewellgate" the same street the restaurant is located in; pass the restaurant and Baja Beach nightclub. After the Brett Oil building there is a public car park on the right.
CAR PARK 3
FROM GATESHEAD
Drive over the swing Bridge, pass the restaurant which is on your left. Public car park in front of the Sea nightclub, then walk back over the bridge to the restaurant.
FROM NEWCASTLE
As you are driving along Newcastle Quayside you need to straight ahead just as you are hitting the Swing Bridge, the Public car park is in front of Sea nightclub, then walk over the Swing Bridge to the restaurant which is on the Gateshead side of the river.
CAR PARK 4 (THE SAGE)
Head for THE SAGE, where there is a secure car parking facility in operation. If you are not returning to your vehicle before Midnight please notify the security staff.

The centre of Newcastle ie: the Monument is only 5 minutes walk and its downhill all the way!
